Lisa M. Gehrke, JD, MA E-mail Lisa
Lisa is the founder and President of Gehrke & Associates, S.C. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution, licensing, intellectual property portfolio management, bioethics and the development of regulatory policies for the biomedical, biotechnological and chemical industries.
She earned a B.S. in biology and psychology from Marquette University and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School. In addition, Lisa earned a M.A. in Bioethics from the Medical College of Wisconsin with a specialization in legal and ethical issues relating to biotechnological and biomedical research, institutional responsibility for development of policies in research ethics, and the ownership of human biological materials and genetic information.
Lisa is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the Wisconsin and Virginia State Bars. She is a guest instructor in the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Bioethics Program and frequently lectures and writes on issues relating to bioethical and intellectual property concerns in research. Lisa currently chairs the Bioethics Committee for the Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association. She is the President-elect of the Friends of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and the National Association of Women Business Owners of Greater Milwaukee. She is a member of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association and the Intellectual Property Owner’s Association.
